Photographed in Kaamanen deep in Arctic Lapland, these images were shaped by snow covered trees and the stillness of intense cold. Long hours in the hide brought sightings of Siberian jays, Arctic redpolls, bullfinches, pine grosbeaks and woodpeckers moving through the frozen forest. This collection reflects the calm pace of winter birdlife in the far north, where patience is rewarded with brief flashes of colour, movement and quiet resilience in the cold.
